Program Overview
TCBOE Title I Parent Involvement Program is committed to including parents in all aspects of their child's learning experience. Students and parents will be given every opportunity for success through the development and enhancement of the home/school partnership.

At Terrell County BOE Administration Office, The Title I Parent Involvement Program provides a state of the arts Parent Resource Room available for use by all parents. The Resource Center is staffed with a two Parent Coordinators to assist parents and provide training. The Parent Lab is provided with 10 computers and a printer, Promethean board and projector are available along with many, many books and pamphlets to help parents. Using the computers the parent access online resources including the TCBOE website www.terrell.k12.ga.us, on which the parents can access current AYP information, school calendars, contact information, Parental Resources and other pertinent Title I information available locally and at the Federal and State level.

Parents have the right to know:
under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965 requires school districts that receive federal title I funding to notify parents of their right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers and paraprofessionals who instruct their child.
Parents have the right:
  • to know the professional qualifications of their child's teacher(s) including the degrees and certifications held, and whether the teacher is certified in their respective area of instruction.
  • to know if their child has been assigned, or has been taught for at least four consecutive weeks, by a teacher who does not meet the highly qualified definition.
  • to know the school improvement status of the school.
  • to know the level of achievement of their child in each area of the state assessment.
  • to be involved in the planning and implementation of the parent involvement program in their school.
